The renowned Nigerian musician and music director, Davido, has confessed to having an argument with his father Adedeji Adeleke at the time he quit school to study music.
OBO made the announcement during an interview with the podcast based in America, Earn Your Leisure.
According to the man the father of his son was so enraged that he ended up closing his shows and even sending his police to him after the police discovered that he had quit school to pursue music.
“I wasn’t in school. I was facing music full time and over the years, he found out that I wasn’t in school and there was a whole lot of drama. I left school. I went back to the city and then my dad was chasing me with the police. Yes, they (the police) were coming after me to go back to school. Any show he (my dad) saw me on, on a flier or whatever, he was shutting the show down”, he said.
Davido added that his smash hit song, Dami Duro, was the most important moment in the relationship between him and his father. Davido said that once his father realized the extent to which his fame had grown and they came up with arrangements which allowed him to attend performances when he wasn’t taking classes.
“Then I dropped the songby Dami Duro. The song became so popular that The president sang it. Even people that my dad couldn’t understand the song were singing it. After two to three years, I earned an MBA as well as music.” said the man.
